I figured I should take a moment to thank the people who wrote this software, it gets more and more diverse as I delve into it. Talk about taking the idea of a personal blog to the next level!
With that accomplished, maybe I’ll actually continue to use this thing?

Ok, now, I’ve been a supporter of the Microsoft Zune device since the introduction of the 30GB device, but I was not an early adopter and picked up my device as a pre-order when the 80GB released. I did encourage a friend of mine to look into a Zune if they were considering getting a portable media player. Needless to say, they’ve been happy. Though, 2.0 confused them. That being said, in the 2.0 era of the device’s required software, initially made me way to tear my eyes out. Bugs, bloated feature less crap. I looked up Zune hacks and thought about converting the device to be a portable hard drive. Ok, so it wasn’t that bad, but it was not that great either. I mean really, I could see where it was trying to go and supported it, but it wasn’t all that I wanted. At least I didn’t feel like I was subscribing to the iPod generation style and mentality with regards to thought and ‘upgrade’ now philosophy, but it still was not all it could be and I wasn’t sure it would considering how Microsoft can be in regards to software. ‘Our way or the highway’ seems to be the usual, but after delving a little more into Zune and what its all about, I was very wrong. Very very wrong.
With the launch of 3.0, almost everything that pissed me off about 2.0 was gone, and features were overloaded. I could describe it to be similar to my first orgasm, but, honestly it wasn’t that great. Don’t get me wrong, I still needed a towel, but not quite orgasmic. Everything from correcting existing ID3 data via an easy search function to what is called ‘mixview’ where I can look up new music and other related content. It also allows me to find other people into the same shit. Pretty sick. They manage to pack quite the Zune software’s features into something half the size of iTunes, which I’ve always fucking despised even within Mac OS X. Bloated proprietary bullshit, Thanks Apple, you suck. I suppose the same complaint can apply to Microsoft with Zune software, but they manage to do more with half the size. Motion of the ocean? Sure why not.
There is literally, one thing… ONE THING, left that is driving me absolutely fucking nuts about this device that the fucking iPod can do. The Zune, for whatever reason, still does not allow you to play music off the device without syncing the music locally to the drive. Epic fucking fail. I can’t imagine its a hardware limitation, since it all appears to be USB 2.0 hardware. I could be way off my rocker, since I’ve not broken the thing open to examine it, but for all intensive purposes its so close to a fucking deal breaker. The idea is that I can sync my music to the device, and leave it there. No need for a copy on my drive. I’ve not collected an insane library of music over time or anything, I delete when I stop listening. No need to keep shit I don’t listen to anymore. I’ve sent an email over to the address advertised in the Zune Insider Podcast, and have not heard anything. They are slammed, not even close to complaining about not hearing anything yet. Just, waiting…lol
Please God, let me be allowed to play music from my Zune on a PC. Please.

Right so, this last and final debate has me raising an eyebrow. I’ll state right out of the gate, that before starting this blog I support neither major candidate and might as well hire Spock, you know, logical decisions with some emotion involved? Is that so bad? Ok, he is fictitious and I do jest. It is me.
Both candidates seem to have this notion to go after each other, in a “whatever it takes” attitude, to win this election. Based on a previous blog, words used during the convention, Obama bashed McCain more then the other way around. It’s a fact. McCain has responded, though, I do not agree, I still feel like neither of these people are really getting the big picture in regards to what is happening around us. They seem to beat around on the same issues with some generosity, but not entirely, especially when it comes to dealing with an attack from the other person. This is something that does not stop once elected. Maybe I am a bit naive when it comes to politics, but I’d like to think I’ve I have lived a life in which I can understand what is happening around me without an accredited college advisor to tell me how it all works. Being involved in the legal system, to some extent, allows me some leverage in these thoughts as well. You’d think it would be really easy just based on that to align right along with Obama. I don’t know what it is, but when Obama speaks I feel like he is trying to sell me a 3 wheeled car by telling me it has 4 wheels. It’s just a feeling, though, I do think he is WAY more effective in speaking and will probably be more eligible to get head if elected. I’m just saying. Oh, too soon?
Even tonight, both candidates seem to show the same song and dance with all issues to plug an attack against the other. Initially, I did not support Obama based on the feeling since he had seemingly done it the most. Now, I feel as if McCain has been sucked right into it as well and now both dance around, and sing the same old song from years passed. We are in a new era requiring radically new ideas and actions to change the way we do things. Let me break it down:
Fact: John McCain is not George W. Bush. I am sure a DNA test will confirm this, if required.
Fact: Obama and Osama are actually two different people. See above for details.
Fact: There needs to be a poor, middle and upper class in order for our country to operate. Please see Communism for further details.
Fact: Our country is actually fucked right now.
Fact: Pissing contests don’t impress me.
Fact: “You have died of dysentery.” is still in Oregon Trail.
Ok ok, sorry I’m really liking the idea of making lists on my blog. Radical. Now, when I say radical, I do not mean the traditional sense of the word as in severe sway to one direction in regards to belief. I find way to much shit on the internet about which way I should or shouldn’t think. Really? Come on now. There does have to be some sort of medium, but decisions are going to be made on where this country is headed and the majority of the country does still believe that Christian religion is the driving force of their life. Regardless, people, quit telling what others should do with their babies.
Damn, I feel a lot better throwing that out there. Obama, I salute you there my friend. McCain, I appreciate life as well, but some people can’t and won’t be able to provide for that child. People don’t adopt babies, give it up or give people the ability to breed.
Science, it was brought up, we suck at it. Duly noted. Why? Because the average American kid is more concerned with pwning face in WoW or CoD4… while a kid overseas hacks WEP in record time. How do we fix that? heh, uh, Starcraft II… so we can battle the Koreans right and proper like!
Can I just say that if I here the word fundamental one more time? I am actually going to go bell tower on an ant hill outside? I’m not sure what that means, but, I’ll laugh a little to myself. Ok, before the CIA knocks on my door… I don’t even own a gun nor want a gun. That goes for ‘the last 8 years’ as well. McCain, stop going after Obama… you started this without bickering and whining about your adversary. Anyway, yeah, these callers on CSPAN are fucking hilarious, what is this, YouTube? I’d love a video feed of this shit…haha. Ahhh, I should probably pony up and sound like a jackass in a podcast. I might learn something about myself.
Mr. Senator Obama, Mr Senator McCain – Please, Please speak on something that is worth a damn to me and quit attacking each other… you talk AT each other a lot, but not to me. At all. Get it together or I’m voting for Spock.
I still feel that this operating system could be one of the greatest out there. I could go on about stability, security and many other topics. I’ll stick to community on this post.
Though, predominantly a Windows user, I’ve found myself ‘tinkering’ with linux more then a few times. Now don’t get me wrong here, I’ve managed linux servers, personally and professionally, but I’m still in a quandary as to whether I could make a move to this as a general OS for my living room. I think the single most problem I have with the idea of linux as a desktop OS, is that the community that supports it is more then elitist in nature. You think I exagurate? Head over to SlashDot and you’ll see what I mean. I complain a lot about a lot of things, but I am nothing in comparison to the average nerd out there with a chip on their shoulder who would post on that site. It is unreal.
I wonder how many petabytes have been used to store the word shit? Probably less then I’d think. Well, I hope anyway. Though it is a great word. Random, I have ADHD, blame the disease not the person.
Now that I am totally off topic here. Linux as a desktop OS. Right, lets all call our mothers and help them compile the new kernel released for Gentoo? Really? You think they’re going to understand that? Even Ubuntu or gOS, come on people. Get a grip. I for one can appreciate that linux can be a great operating system to do a lot of great things, but I don’t ever see it getting the market penetration that Microsoft or Apple has.

Apple isn’t linux intarweb users… its FreeBSD. Not a comparison. Wait, sure it is, how could I ever say that? Well, I guess when Ubuntu has a $100mil to blow on some of the most amazing designers in the world, then we’ll see it being used by everyone. Apple users aren’t elitists! Oh, wait… yeah, that guy – on the iPhone. Total fucking tools(No offense Kevin Rose, you seem cool, heh). It amazes me how far status and style has gone with that electronics company. Didn’t Sony do something similar with the walkman? I guess they were able to ride that high horse for years as well.
Wow, I digress a lot. All in all, Ubuntu has a chance, but they need hardware and style to go hand in hand, and then I think it will have made it to the big time. I guess we’ll see how far the rabbit hole goes.

Wow, the only person who had that mouth full last I can think, was Monica Lewinski. Bitch. Seriously, say the blog title out loud. Anyway, the new Writer seems a little more streamlined and once again I’m actually liking it. Easier to preview a post, most settings and it all makes sense, mostly. I know, it will change fifteen times before RC2. At any rate, quite a bit of time spent on this release, and I’ve not had any crashes. I guess that is good, right? I probably just jinxed myself.
Well, on to more emo topics. My dad gets out of the hospital this week. Initially they told him Saturday, now they are stating Friday. Quite a relief considering they thought he was going to die. It’s amazing what my mind was doing during that time, attempting to support my mother through the grief, figure out what the hell I was going to do to help everyone if he did perish and somehow still balance my own life into it all. Reading that again, yes, in that order. All in all, I am glad he is ok.
Ok. Politics. You know that game in Golf ‘n Stuff? Wack-A-Mole? Yeah, we need to create two versions for the web, Wack-A-Mccain and Wack-A-Obama. I swear they can say some of the most retarded shit at times, just as I can. The latest ‘town hall’ style debate didn’t shy away from it either. They really try so hard to address what is being asked so they can plug other points of interest….to them. Well, at least I know they aren’t robots… this is good since I’ve been fearing a Cylon invasion. Fucking BSG. Right, well my divide between the two – a guy who can handle the war and a guy who can handle the country. That’s a problem. I probably shouldn’t talk about politics since I’m a convicted felon… ok, I’m not a convicted felon, but I swear, I do feel like I’m under lock and key when it comes to making a decision in presidents. These two really need a lesson in humility if they ever plan to relate to anyone. Oh, and Biden, can we not bring up your dead wife? It happened a long time ago, get over it. Spilling your sob story like that makes me think you need a shrink.

Right then, and on to the economy. If I hear one more person talk about this ‘depression’ we’re in, I might actually start throwing journalists out of the window. I mean really, the fundamental difference(heh, had too) between the 1930s and the 21st century are leaps and bounds from each other. The reactions of the governments of the world are also not treating this like they did in the 1930s. I’ll speak in specifics, the American Government raised taxes in the 30s, tightened their belts keeping people from money. Now, they are injecting money. Remember? We have social security now? I’m sorry, I shouldn’t bash the people who obviously slept through history class. Please, journalists, you sound stupid enough most of the time, save yourself from this self deprecating demise. I’d say it is safe to assume you graduated college, act like you know something and quit trying to bullshit the public into thinking that this is even close to comparable to The Great Depression.
